Dedicated to the promotion of original artist dolls as an art form and to the support of the artists who create them

News Flash announcement from the Conference Organizers!!!!!!

We have taken advantage of the theme of this year's conference to make available some entertaining activities . A Goblet Challenge will be featured during the Welcome Feast. Attendees are encouraged to make their own goblet out of any material they wish (real wineglasses will be supplied for actual drinking purposes!) to compete for a prize. In addition, prizes will be awarded to those participants who come to the Feast in Renaissance costume: think of: kings, queens, princesses, witches, wenches, pirates, gypsies, fairies! Jesters, troubadours, minstrels, physics, angels! Feast your eyes upon the delectable doll display by our members. Expect much merriment and fellowship as we exchange pin dolls following the Feast. Participate in our Annual General Meeting to discover what we have planned for the upcoming year. Last but not least, purchase tickets for our fabulous raffles which we will draw throughout the evening.

The Pin Doll Silent Auction will again take place this year under the capable hands of Mistress Jacqueline de Graceffo. We hope that you will donate a particularly beautiful piece to this auction which raises money for our scholarships in years to come. Our Renaissance theme has so many ideas to offer: think of the works of Leonardo Da Vinci, the de Medici,, Michelangelo, Albrecht Durer, Raphael, Henry VIII, Frances I of France, Nicolo Machiavelli, Galileo, Gutenburg, Palestrina, Francoise Rabelais (!) - think of the fashions, the inventions, the code of chivalry, beautiful angels, cherubim and seraphim in the churches.

On Friday evening, a Renaissance Faire will take place following the dinner hour. Conference delegates who wish to sell their wares – dolls, books, magazines, doll making supplies or maybe even something to do with the Renaissance theme are encouraged to rent a table for a pittance. Watch out for the Hedge Witch, an anonymous guest loaded with cards for mysterious gifts and booby-prizes! Come out to the Faire for fun, profit and door prizes ~ there will be something for everyone with music and a puppet show by our own CDAA Commedia De l'Arte.

Saturday evening we honour our artists with a Celebrations! Banquet. Awards will be presented for the Renaissance Dreams Challenge, Judge's Choice and People's Choice of the dolls display following the festive feast and raffle draws. We will reveal of the winners of the Pin Doll Silent Auction at this event.

Sunday morning brings the Round Tables of Knowledge where the skills and mysteries of doll making will be made available to you for no charge! Remember to sign up for the three tables of your choice in order of preference. Following the Round Tables, there will be a Brunch to celebrate our undertakings and say au revoir but not good-bye with raffle draws and door prizes.

We are very excited about this year's conference and we look forward to meeting you at Renaissance Dreams in April. Please contact us with additional ideas and suggestions at conferencechair@gmail.com

Sincerely,

Kathy White-Conference Chair

Carol Cracknell-Conference Co-Chair
