When and why did you start making dolls?
I started working with Polymer Clay in early 2000, and have loved every minute of it. I started with the usual little characters from the books I bought, and then moved on to One of a Kind dolls.

When did you begin making "One of a Kind" dolls, and why?
Not long after I started making the little characters from the books did I want to start making my own designs, and so after only a few "book" characters, I made my first little Viking. I was immediatly hooked on this versitile medium and wondered what else could me accomplished with it.

What type of dolls do you make?
I make a variety of dolls, from miniature baby dolls that measure only 5/8ths of and inch, to 18" Art Dolls, and all the way up to a life sized witch for Halloween 2008.
I have recently travelled to the United States to attend Jack Johnstons Professional Doll course, and came home with a " Master Doll Makers Certificate".
I have been working on some special little 7" and 11" baby dolls that have captured my imagination, and am enjoying creating these wonderful little darlings.

What media do you use?
I use Polymer Clay in many different brands, but my favorite I would have to say is Pro-Sculpt, as it works so well at seaming together.

What do you consider special about your dolls?
I think the special thing about my dolls is that they come in all different shapes and sizes. I really like to work out of my comfort zone and try new things, I can't wait to see what's next!

What are your goals as a doll maker?
My goals are probably much the same as most artists, to continue learning and honing whatever skills we have been given. I would love to also get something published in a magazine in the near future, and attend some big doll shows to share my work.

Tell a little about yourself.
I grew up on a grain farm in Northern Alberta, with my 3 brothers, and 3 sisters. I come from a family with a strong artistic background, my Mom is involved in so many arts and crafts its hard to mention them all, from oil painting, to traditional Hardanger Embroidery. I have a brother who carves "wood spirits" from drift wood and draws. One sister is wonderful with charcoal drawings , as well as large wall paintings, the other does oil painting, and the other works with wood and makes silver jewelry. My oldest brother is a tin basher, and makes huge sculptures from wrought iron, as well as smaller candle holders. I guess I was destined to be just a little artistic with a family like that!
I now live in a small community not far from where I grew up with my husband and our 3 sons aged 20-18-16.

I would like to say "Thank you" to all of you who have stopped by and taken the time to read my bio page.

If you would like to see more of my work, I invite you to check out my web site, and see what's new.
