FAMILY INFO: John (husband) and I retired from photography and teaching in tropical north Queensland to the sunshine coast. He is originally from B.C., I taught there for a year, he is now a wood turner and I make dolls. TYPE/STYLE OF DOLLS: I use a variety of media, at the moment polymer clay and cloth. I work to create realism sometimes, at other times caricature or fantasy. LENGTH OF TIME IN DOLLMAKING: Seriously making originals since 2000. DOLLMAKING COMMENTS OR MOTTO: Dolls have always had a fascination for me. The pleasure is in creating something "alive" out of a scrap of fabric or a bit of clay. As a friend once said "yesterday that was mud in a bottle!" My motto: "I don't do breakfast, I do dolls!" |
