When/why did you start making dolls? I was a quilter for 15 years and I made my first pattern doll in 1990 (Elinor Peace Bailey's dolls) Once I realized how much more satisfaction I was getting making dolls I never looked back. I began doll making exclusively in about 1999.

When did you begin making original one-of-a-kind dolls, and why? I began making my own dolls about three years ago because I wished to make dolls that are a reflection of where I live and my spiritual beliefs. I believe that we can see the goddess in everything and this is the element I like to show in my dolls.

What type/style of dolls do you make? I make fabric dolls. Sometimes I use paper clay.

What do you consider to be “special” about your dolls?
My costuming is unique as I try to always use vintage linens that are often cast off and lost forever. My dolls often reflect life on the west coast.

What are your goals as a doll maker? To grow and learn and be around other artists. To exhibit my work. To work with my hands for my pleasure and the pleasure of others.

Tell a little about yourself: My favourite pastimes include wandering around thrift stores rescuing bits and pieces of the past, textile from the hands of women needleworkers gone by. I work full time as a waitress at the Sooke Harbour House.
